Bhut Jolokia of Assam in NE India is the world's hottest pepper coming in at a whopping 1,001,304 Scoville units (measures capsaicin, the chemical that results in the experience of 'heat'). To put that into perspective, the Thai hot chili comes in at a mere 60,000 Scoville units and the Jalapeno can't compare with 2,500-8,000 Scoville units. With dangerously hot peppers and tremendous potential for adventure in the coming months, I hope to provide friends and family the curd that provides an insight into my journey-- an appetizing balance of stories, home stays, alpine experiences, and dare a say it, a minute amount of sight-seeing.
Departure: January 10th from Seattle; 13th from San Francisco.
Itinerary (at least I've got the countries and approximate order): Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, southern Thailand, India, Nepal, China, (maybe Japan at the end).
Return: Sometime...
